Kathryn
M Almony
KMA, an acronym for Kathryn M. Almony, was originally organized
as a boutique publishing house and graphic design studio in Antigua,
West Indies. Today the publishing studio base is located in Hawaii,
on the Big Island.
Kathryn is a creative with a passion for new ideas, and for bringing
them to an audience in a clear, yet exciting manner. Her core
talent is to express complex concepts in simple, visual terms,
and to combine imagery with language and symbolism to provide
clients with a marketable product which will not simply entertain,
but inform and edify memorably.

MEETING NEW CHALLENGES
KMA Design Studios has revived a number of magazines here in the Hawaii market, such as the real estate magazine, Homes of the Big Island. New positioning, a modern marketing plan with teeth, and an elegant design gave this struggling real estate magazine new life. Homes of the Big Island is today, Hawaii's leading magazine in the industry, and offers content and editorial that go beyond standard real estate reports and inventory to offer articles that speak of the lifestyle of Hawaii homeowners.
Big Island Maps Beaches and Tours was, for many years an icon of the island's map and tour guides, but had become outdated in style and visual focus, and was losing its appeal to advertisers. By broadening the scope of the magazine to tours around the entire Big Island, redesigning the publication to highlight the most exceptional tours, and adding all new photography, the 2009 edition of Maps Beaches and Tours has attracted new advertisers and renewed the respect and admiration of readers.
Big Island Business 2 Business Magazine, Hawaii's only business magazine, was revived with an all new design in 2005 and 2006, along with a revised marketing plan. The redesign and repositioning process allowed this magazine to compete with statewide publications and to secure long term advertising agreements with national and regional sponsors. New editorial, relevant to the business ccommunity, and marketing tips have enhanced awareness of burgeoning trends. Industry analyses helped Hawaii businesses to compete more effectively.
International
acclaim in publication design grew out of the publication of the Grenada
Bar Association's regional law magazine for the public, Oyez!Oyez!. Contributing editors and featured authors of this annual journal
include St. Lucia Prime Minister Dr. Kenny Anthony, a leading
expert on the implementation of of the Caribbean Court of Justice,
and Attorney Ruggles Ferguson, the West Indies' leading constitutional
formation and development specialist, in addition to many other
regional leaders.
Oyez!Oyez!
is hailed as a thought provoking addition to scant legal public
education resources, and has opened a new avenue for bringing
complex legal and constitutional realities into understanding
for the general public.

HIGHLIGHTS
The
Friends of Billy Kenoi retained KMA Design Studios in 2007 to produce the campaign to elect Billy Kenoi as Mayor of the County of Hawaii. Not only did the campaign result in the successful election of Hawaii's youngest Mayor, but became the first such campaign in Hawaii County to raise nearly a half million dollars from supporters.
The
Government of Grenada contracted KMA Design Studios to publish
its 2003-2004 redesigned edition of the Grenada Government At
Work publication and introduced it at the 43rd General Assembly
of the United Nations garnering praise from leaders around the
world.
KMA
Design Studios produces NNP manifesto entitled NNP Vision in
2003 prior to party's successful re-election bid in 2004.
Police
Force Magazine raises annual funds through the sale of advertising
to support public awareness initiatives and community policing.
Dixie
cups worldwide exhibit KMA design work, many of which are in
continuous reproduction. One of those designs is being featured in a television commercial linked here.
KMA
Design Studios published Lamplighter Newspaper for Antigua Labour
Party leadership.
Antigua
Jazz Festival, produced in 1996, was a once-in-a-lifetime logistic
miracle featuring 10 days of events and 116 international performers and 40 workers.
The communications
company has relocated several times to pursue happiness and new
opportunities, but the core business pursuit remains independent
publications which are launched to fulfill the wider objective
of information distribution and public education. Publishing raises
funds as well as awareness!
PRODUCTS
In
addition to custom publications, our core products are design
work, editorial and identity strategies, print brokerage, and
advertising media representation. Upon acceptance of your project
we will provide the materials (or a digital host) to present your
campaign to the market. Magazines, web sites, brochures, direct
mail pieces and business identity materials are all designed in-house
and printed at approved facilities before being shipped directly
to you or the end-user.
CONFIDENTIALITY & NON-DISCLOSURE
All
media productions such as websites, digital presentations, computer
generated imagery and advertising are produced in-house, in privacy
and confidence until you approve your materials for release. Your
strategy documents and draft materials will never be shared unless
you personally authorize publication or distribution. All consultations
are held in confidence, and a strict non-disclosure policy applies
to any correspondence regarding your account. Your confidence
in these matters, as well as any information provided to you regarding
competitive advice, fulfillment sources, or pricing is also expected
in return.
REPRESENTATION
All advertising media insertions for local media
are invoiced at cost, giving you value-added professional agency
representation. We provide a wide range of imprinted products
at trade discounts when you order custom printed items in series
for gifts or resale. By acting as your broker for print, product
or media materials, you incur lower costs for your project and
more efficient handling.
